  • Christ, our King and Shepherd… The liturgical year ends today with the feast of Christ the King. Our Scripture readings remind us that Christ is the Shepherd-King, who leads his sheep (us!) with love. In the Gospel, we’re called to be loyal to our King by reaching out to others, especially the needy. At the end of time, Jesus will remind us that “whatever you did for one of the least brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me.” May we then inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world.
  • The second collection today… is our annual “Operation Christmas” collection. The proceeds are divided among several organizations that help the needy.
  • Advent… starts next weekend! Advent is a special time to get ready for Christ’s coming, to “prepare the way of the Lord.” As in past years, we are looking for volunteers (individuals, couples, families, anyone!) to carry the Advent Wreath candle in the entrance procession of our weekend Advent masses. If interested, please sign-up on the sheet posted in the church vestibule.
