  • In today’s second reading… Saint Paul tells us: “Do not conform yourselves to this age…” Although those words were written nearly two thousand years ago, they are as pertinent now as they were then. As Jesus reminds Peter in today’s Gospel, we need to think as God does. This is not easy! It can be a heavy cross to carry. But Jesus reminds us that those who take up their cross and follow him will be rewarded in the next life.
  • Labor Day… is on Monday! As we relax a bit on this holiday, we pray for all workers, as well as for those who are unemployed or underemployed. Why not start the day by coming to our Monday 9:00 a.m. mass? Please note that our Parish Rectory Office will be closed on Labor Day.
  • The RCIA process… is for non-Catholic adults who wish to join the Catholic Church, or adult Catholics who have been baptized, but never received Confirmation or Eucharist. If you’d like to inquire about the process, contact Fr. Jim at the rectory. Spread the word! Nothing works better than a personal invitation to join the faith.
  • The Second Collection next weekend… is the annual collection for the Bishop’s Education Fund. This fund is used to give financial assistance to needy families in our diocese with children who would like to benefit from a Catholic education. Your generosity will be appreciated.
