- Today… and for the next four weekends, our Gospel for Mass comes from the sixth chapter of the Gospel of John. This chapter is often called the “Bread of Life” chapter, since it deals with different aspects of this wonderful reality. In today’s selection, the multiplication of the loaves of bread is a symbol of the Eucharist. May we partake of God’s goodness, and share the bounty of God’s love.
- “Recap”… Let’s not forget the message of the Gospel readings we heard during the homily at Mass the last two weekends, which dealt with discipleship… The three C’s: Commitment, Compassion, and Companionship; and the three R’s: Rest, Reconnect, and Reassess!
- Confirmation date… We have received word that Bishop David Zubik will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for our young people here at St. John Capistran on Wednesday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m. As the date approaches, more information will be sent to those involved in the ceremony.
- The RCIA process… is for non-Catholic adults who wish to join the Catholic Church, or adult Catholics who have been baptized, but never received Confirmation or Eucharist. If you’d like to inquire about the process, contact Fr. Jim at the rectory. Spread the word! Nothing works better than a personal invitation to join the faith.
